Fall Reading 2022 Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers

The latest offering from the Rebel Girls series features changemakers in the under 30 age group. Readers will discover: a young woman who invented stitches that detect infection, the first fashion designer with Downs Syndrome to have her designs featured at the International Fashion Showcase, the one who found a way to test blood sugar without needles, and other amazing accomplishments. Some names are well-known (Greta Thunberg or Taylor Swift), but others may never have been heard of before this book. Each person has her own spread with a full page illustration (each by a female or nonbinary artist) and a page for her story. Back matter includes 7 more pages of mini-profiles, a glossary, and a page for the reader to draw their own portrait and write their own story. There is also a suggested list of activities similar to those in the book - host a show, invent something, etc. and information about the authors and illustrators. QR codes throughout the book offer access to audio stories to complement the printed material.

An introduction to a variety of impressive accomplishments in a a wide range of fields - good for browsing, reading through from cover to cover, or using for short inspirational stories to share with a class or club.

I read an advance copy provided by the publisher for review purposes.
