Toothy lives in Liam’s mouth next to his best friend Fang. He’s a good tooth—sparkly and strong, and he loves doing the floss.
One day, Toothy notices that he is loose and panics! Where will he go after he leaves his comfy spot next to Fang? After a crunchy apple seals the deal, Toothy is tucked under Liam’s pillow. When the Tooth Fairy appears, she takes Toothy to the Museum of Lost Teeth. It’s a more incredible place than Toothy could have ever imagined. It’s filled with new friends and fun activities like Tooth or Dare! Toothy finds a new home on the Firsts Floor, where first baby teeth are proudly displayed.
In the tradition of School’s First Day of School, The Museum of Lost Teeth answers the question “Where do all the lost teeth go?” in this unexpected and hilarious picture book.

MY REVIEW
Do you know anyone who is about to lose their first tooth? (Or has just done so?) If you are a parent or teacher of youngsters at the age when baby teeth start popping out to make way for permanent teeth, then you should pick up a copy of this book. Toothy loves his place in Liam’s mouth because he is well cared for and his friend Fang is right next to him. Finding himself at loose ends seems like a bad dream. But when he is whisked off by a tooth fairy and taken to the Museum of Lost Teeth, he finds out that it isn’t the end of the world. Adults will laugh at Toothy’s hope that the museum will have a gift shop, or his confusion over commemorative plaques hanging on the walls. “What? The dentist said plaque was TERRIBLE! But the signs did look pretty special.” Illustrations highlight the reactions in Liam’s mouth when he shouts, “My tooth is loose!” Toothy gasps with his own tiny mouth open wide and his eyebrows climbing in disbelief. Fang claps his hands to his cheeks in despair while another tooth wipes his brow in relief. Another fun feature is the difference between the illustrations on the dust jacket and the book’s cover. The jacket shows Toothy and Felicity Fairy walking the halls of the museum, but the cover shows Toothy perched on Felicity’s back as they fly toward the museum’s entrance. Even the endpapers add to the story, showing tooth fairies sorting letters in a mailroom (front), and a sampling of tooth fairy notes (back). Fun for young and old as they celebrate, or commiserate, the loss of a tooth and the resulting visit from the tooth fairy.
