Winter Reading 2023 Wolf on the Wild Side

Return to Silver Town, Colorado, home of the Silver wolf pack and the location of Timberline Ski Lodge run by Kayla Wolff and her siblings. The Wolffs enjoy their family closeness and the challenge of keeping their guests happy on the slopes and in the lodge. They also like to lend a hand on investigations with their new sister-in-law Nicole (married to their brother Blake) and her brother Nate Grayson. The private investigators stay busy with cases in the surrounding area, but Nate is trying to shoulder more of the business while Nicole is pregnant. And when Kayla offers to assist him as a way for them to spend more time together, they are both caught up in dangerous circumstances. Can a shy hotelier keep up with her rugged, ex-military boyfriend and help him solve the case before it is too late?

Once again Terry Spear has taken a pair of characters that have already appeared in other books from her various wolf series and featured them in their own story. Readers first encountered Kayla as the quietest of the Wolff siblings in You Had Me at Wolf, when a case brought Nicole to the lodge and her brother Nate came to back her up. Kayla also appears in Jingle Bell Wolf (which features her brother Landon and beautiful vet Gabrielle), and Nate is mentioned several times as busy working cases. Now the extended family and members of the Silver pack play supporting roles as Kayla and Nate finally act on the attraction they have felt since their first meeting.

This story, these interconnecting series, have a fun mix of enjoyable settings, family and pack loyalty, humor, adventure, mystery, romance, and some breathtaking action (sometimes literally a cliffhanger). Perfect for folks who enjoy romantic suspense mixed with a bit of paranormal, supernatural, or urban fantasy.

Wolf on the Wild Side is due out June 6, so you can preorder now and have a beach read on hand as summer begins. I read an advance copy provided by the publisher for review purposes.
